bubbleUp is a series of prints created with a drawing system. The system dynamically adjusts brush size, quantity of marks, and background colors in response to mouse position, while also allowing users to influence various visual elements—including the option to invert colors and selectively "grow" specific pixels, fostering a collaborative process between human and computer that yields a diverse array of images.

The central focus of these prints is the vibrant potato starch granule depicted under polarized light and how its shape and colors are manipulated in different ways by the drawing system. I have a background in microbiology research and worked a lot with plants in the past, so through this brush I wanted to explore the complex relationship between technology and the natural world.

As my first foray into drawing with code, I titled this piece as a nod to one of the first recursive functions I had to write for my Computer Science class.
