Root of the Problem is an interactive installation that explores how human touch functions as a stressor on natural systems. Using hand-tracking in p5.js, when hands come into contact with the camera, the flowers on the tree vanish, and the tree itself retreats from the touch. Additionally, the installation plays recorded phrases that are commonly said when people pluck plants, highlighting the fact that humans often disregard the consequences of their actions on the environment. These exaggerated voices serve to demonstrate the lack of consideration many individuals give to disrupting nature.
